    Kenya is shifting its mangrove conservation strategy to place coastal communities at the centre of protection efforts, addressing threats from illegal logging, pollution and climate change. The change emerged at a National Mangrove Stakeholder Forum in Lamu, where officials identified weak community involvement, fragmented governance and poor coordination as reasons previous conservation efforts fell short.
