Tigray rebels question Obasanjo's impartiality in peace mediation
Ethiopia's Tigray People's Liberation Front has accused African Union special envoy Olusegun Obasanjo of lacking impartiality as he works to prevent renewed civil war, citing his August visit to Tigray without notice or clear agenda. The federal government and TPLF have massed forces on the northern region's border in recent months, raising fears of returning to the 2020-22 conflict that killed some 600,000 people.
