ICC president urges Japan to resist US campaign
The head of the International Criminal Court, Tomoko Akane, has called on Japan to counter U.S. efforts to pressure ICC members to quit the institution, citing Tokyo's role as the court's biggest financial backer. The Trump administration has sanctioned the ICC president and a senior lawyer, and has called on other countries to leave the body, a call at least five countries have already heeded.
