Kenya orders 25 million bags of maize to bridge harvest deficit
The Government plans to import 25 million 90-kilogramme bags of maize to address an anticipated deficit from reduced harvests in major maize-growing regions and avert a food crisis. Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said arrangements were already under way and the Government had measures in place to maintain adequate food supplies despite production challenges.
