FKF President denies Sh42 million insurance fund loss claims

  2. FKF suspends three officials over Sh42 million insurance funds loss

    Football Kenya Federation's NEC suspended President Hussein Mohammed, acting-CEO Dennis Gicheru, and NEC member Abdallah Yusuf over the reported loss of Sh42 million in CHAN Pamoja tournament insurance funds, appointing McDonald Mariga as acting-President. The EACC, IRA, PPRA, CAF, and FIFA are investigating the matter, which Mohammed denies, claiming CAF procured the insurance and FKF made no payments to any insurance company.

  3. FKF president declares suspension unlawful and unconstitutional

    Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed has dismissed his suspension by the National Executive Committee, saying the meeting that suspended him was not convened in accordance with the FKF Constitution and therefore any decisions arising from it are null and void. Mohammed was suspended over a Sh42 million insurance scandal linked to CHAN Pamoja tournament preparations, with his deputy McDonald Mariga recommended to take over in an acting capacity.

    Nine of fourteen NEC members of the Football Kenya Federation have passed a resolution directing President Hussein Rashid Mohammed, NEC member Abdullahi Yussuf Ibrahim, and Acting General Secretary Dennis Gicheru to step aside over alleged financial impropriety and procurement breaches related to CHAN funds. Vice President McDonald Mariga Wanyama will assume the presidency in an acting capacity pending a forensic audit and independent investigations.
