The Kenya Environmental Health and Public Health Practitioners Union has secured interim orders from the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Eldoret in a challenge against Elgeyo Marakwet's County Public Service Board and County Government over the failure to advertise and recruit a Director of Public Health and replace Public Health Officers. The court ordered a hearing for October 14, 2026, and directed that the status quo be maintained in the meantime.
