A parliamentary watchdog committee has summoned former Kenyatta University Vice Chancellors Prof. Olive Mugenda and Prof. Paul Wainaina to appear over audit queries relating to an alleged Sh6.2 billion loss of public funds. The summons concerns a special audit by the Auditor General covering the 2018/2019 to 2020/2021 financial years, with some transactions examined from the 2014/2015 financial year.

The National Government Constituencies Development Fund has introduced a Quick Response Code system to monitor projects across 290 constituencies and improve transparency in public fund use. The Kenya Literature Bureau has sought Parliament's intervention to recover more than Sh251 million in long-outstanding debts from government institutions, citing cash flow challenges and threats to financial stability. The Auditor-General reports KLB has trade receivables of Sh1.05 billion, with Sh251.5 million unpaid for over 90 days.
