Kalonzo dismisses Sh10 fuel cut as insufficient, demands deeper tax relief
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called the government's Sh10 per litre diesel price reduction inadequate, arguing that meaningful relief requires deep cuts to fuel taxes and levies to bring pump prices to about Sh170 per litre. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority announced the cut after the government withdrew approximately Sh10 billion from the Petroleum Development Levy Fund.
Kalonzo's rejection of the Sh10 diesel cut as insufficient and call for deeper tax relief reflects opposition demands that resonate with cost-of-living concerns across Kenya.
