The government has released Sh396 million to the Social Health Authority to provide health cover for all 107,800 Community Health Promoters and their families, following President Ruto's pledge to protect frontline healthcare workers. The Council of Governors has called on nurses to end their ongoing industrial strike, which it says is illegal and stems from a 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement that it describes as financially unsustainable. CoG Chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi directed governors and county public service boards to take action against health workers who have defied court orders to return to work, while saying the council continues to seek resolution through negotiations with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
