UN chief condemns Mali attacks, urges coordinated response
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned attacks by Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists and Tuareg rebels across Mali, calling for coordinated international support to address violent extremism and terrorism in the Sahel region. The groups launched dawn attacks around the capital Bamako and other regions, with rebels claiming to have seized the northern city of Kidal.
